A. Policy Statement

This policy is framed to ensure assistance and guidance to the candidate so that he or she can take an appropriate decision in the selection of an online course or academic programme. It also aims to offer comprehensive and accurate information about the services, facilities, and resources available to students after enrolment.

The purpose of this policy is to explain and provide a holistic understanding of all processes, policies, and norms applicable to the student after enrolment. It also seeks to ascertain the eligibility of the student and ensure that the student possesses the competencies required by the academic programme that he or she plans to undertake.

B. Guidelines

(A) Counselling Process

  1. The Career Counsellor or the Sales Team Member should collect the applicant’s complete details regarding previous qualifications, experience, and current job profile so as to enable the counsellor to provide appropriate guidance to the applicant.
  2. The counsellor or sales team member must understand the career aspirations and career progression plan of the applicant and then explain the best options available in terms of academic programmes.
  3. The applicant must be informed about the credentials of the institute and also the accreditation, recognition framework, and academic value of the courses under consideration.
  4. The applicant must have a clear understanding of the learning mode, fee payment methods, and support services available after enrolment.
  5. The portal should carry all relevant information that helps the applicant understand the organization, its offerings, and the credentials of the programmes or services.
  6. The applicant must be aware of all policies available on the website and must understand how to access the portal through which studies and course activities will commence.
  7. The applicant must comply with all policies and processes of NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF ADVANCED TECHNICAL & MANAGEMENT STUDIES (NIATM) while enrolling for the desired programme.
  8. For student induction, students should also refer to the relevant education portal and learner support policies, where applicable.

C. Eligibility

Candidates who wish to apply for academic programmes will have to meet the following basic conditions, in addition to the qualification criteria applicable to the programme:

  • Proficiency in English: The student should have sufficient English language proficiency to understand academic instructions, communicate effectively, and comprehend technical jargon, technical words, and technical terms of the relevant discipline or field.
  • Computer Literacy: The student should have basic computer literacy, including practical knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, internet operations, online platforms, video meeting tools, mobile applications, and common social media or digital communication applications used for academic interaction.

D. Documentation

  1. The applicant must provide documentary evidence in support of his or her claims regarding education, age, residential proof, nationality, and work experience, where applicable.
  2. The applicant is required to submit self-attested copies of documents in support of all parameters mentioned in this documentation segment of the policy.
  3. Either the Sales Manager or the Career Counsellor shall ensure that the self-attested copies of documents submitted by the applicant are verified with the respective original documents or with reliable documentary evidence as per institutional practice.

E. Responsibilities

  1. The applicant bears sole responsibility for providing correct information and genuine documents in support of his or her claim to prove eligibility for the course or programme for which he or she intends to apply.
  2. If there is any instance of false declaration or submission of incorrect or misleading documents, the student may be given one opportunity to submit an explanation or clarification. However, if the student is still found guilty after review, he or she may be disqualified from the course and may not be eligible for any refund of fees. This may also result in refusal or cancellation of registration.
  3. The Career Counsellor or the Sales Manager may be subject to appropriate internal action or penalty in case of any discrepancy observed in the verification of eligibility documents, as per the internal code of conduct of the organization.
  4. More information relating to this process may also be available in the education portal policy and other relevant policies of the institute, including policies concerning malpractice and maladministration, where applicable.
  5. The concerned Business Development Manager or authorized institutional representative shall be responsible for compliance with this policy, and the institutional interpretation shall prevail in case of any ambiguity, subject to applicable administrative review.

Enrolment Process

The enrolment process shall be conducted through the learning portal or through the official admission and registration process adopted by NIATM to ensure compliance with all institutional policies, processes, academic regulations, and other conditions applicable to the student’s enrolment.

F. Refunds

If a student withdraws 14 (fourteen) days before the start of a programme, the student may be eligible, at the discretion of NIATM, for a refund of all or part of the course expenses, including deduction of any applicable processing fee.

If the student withdraws after the start of the programme or after fourteen days, or if the student is found to be in violation of the applicable agreements, terms, or programme-specific policies, a refund will generally not be issued unless NIATM decides otherwise in its sole discretion.

If participation in a programme is being sponsored by an employer, institution, or any other third party, the terms and conditions of the relevant agreement with that sponsor may govern payment and refunds to the extent they differ from the terms stated in this policy.
